Gregory M. Sarjoo – Chief Executive Officer
Gregory is a hard-working, creative, committed and Seasoned Executive, focused on building businesses that change people’s lives. From Concept-to-Corporatization, fixing your balance sheet (Financial Services), supporting your operations (Professional Services) and growing your market share (Business Development Services).
A “Black Industrialist” at heart, with a Pan-African vision. He has been instrumental in the re-design of the PBS Group from a family-owned business into a family-owned Corporate Entity. His strategic direction and management of the Group’s diverse business operations – in the recent past – culminated in the establishment of five (5) sub-holding companies; PBS Foods, PBS PropHold, PBS Technologies, PBS Capital and CMC.
Gregory is also a founding member of The Niche Alliance, which is an affiliation of independently-owned Financial, Professional and Business Development Services Companies. The Niche Alliance has developed itself into a credible business model, with owner-driven partner companies, committed to shared Clients, ensuring a superior Client Experience.
Gregory’s leadership skills, proven entrepreneurial competencies, diverse experience, ability to design, and successfully execute strategy have prompted his appointment as Director onto various company Boards. His input has contributed to increased, sustained shareholder value. It is worthy to note that ALL business opportunities to date, have been organically grown and self-funded.
He has extensive experience in nationalizing and centralizing business operations having established company structures across South Africa, and has been influential in the development of a Pan African strategy resulting in secured investments outside South African borders. Gregory has been the author/initiator of the 5 OE (Operational Efficiencies) Management Model employed within the PBS Group of Companies, and at The Niche Alliance Partner Companies.
Gregory also sits on various advisory committees, one of which is responsible for the administration of cash assets just under R2 Billion (ZAR).
He has acquired several Diplomas and Certificates in Business Management and has an extensive CPD track record, he has also successfully completed the First Level Regulatory Examination: Representative and is a registered Key Individual. Gregory has two remaining subjects to complete his MBA – Finance.
Gregory is a family man, an aspiring golfer and grabs any opportunity to go on an adventure.
Nelson Naidoo – Chief Operations Officer
Nelson has a solid understanding of financial and professional services with specialist knowledge in: –
- Financial Management
- Company analysis
- Tax planning
- Risk Management, and
- Business Development
Nelson has completed the First Level Regulatory Examination: Representative and is currently aspiring towards Key Individual accreditation.
His vast business knowledge in strategy and operations has afforded him a significant understanding of the commercial and holistic operational functionality of SMME’s as well as larger corporate entities
Mpho M. Mahlakwane – Compliance Officer
Mpho is a sole proprietor and owner of MM Legal and Compliance company. Mpho Mahlakwane qualified with a B. (Juris) degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in 1990.
He also has recognized professional accreditation in the following areas; Financial Services Board, Category 1 Compliance Officer (FSB518) – Department of Justice – Commissioner of Oaths, and an Associate Member of the Compliance Institute of SA.
Mr. Mahlakwane specializes in outsourcing clients which include Insurance Brokers, Financial Ad visors, Insurance Agents & Funeral parlours and his aim and mission is to simplify the compliance within these organisations.
His expertise and additional services include;
- conducting compliance training for staff upon request
- rust registrations and preparing legal contracts
- business documents and correspondence.
Mpho has worked at various institutions and using his knowledge and expertise has grown into a flourishing compliant business owner.
Justina Govender – CFO
Completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Rhodes University.
Completed her post graduate Chartered Accountant Conversion Course at the University of Cape Town
Qualified as a chartered accountant, completing her articles at Arthur Andersen
Has vast skill and knowledge in structured finance, private equity and project finance via her experience as a dealmaker at Mettle (Pty) Ltd and the Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”).
At IDC, she was a senior dealmaker in the ICT division and progressed into the project and corporate finance division. She further developed her structuring skills within project finance and equity investing, and gained significant exposure to BEE and economically developmental funding structures
Post the IDC, she joined Talis Holdings (Pty) Ltd, an investment holding company with investments in various sectors such as property, logistics, ICT, financial services as the chief investment officer. She grew into the chief executive officer role and concluded funding of greater than R2,1 billion via various funding structures for the Talis group
